Exploring the deeper patterns behind today’s global crises
Building on its earlier research into organisational resilience, betterplace Lab examined the concept of the “Meta Crisis”—the interconnected social, economic and environmental forces that drive many of today’s most pressing challenges. Rather than focusing on individual crises, the study explores how civil society can strengthen long-term resilience by recognising underlying systemic patterns and creating new forms of collaboration, trust and collective action.
Communicating these ideas required more than presenting research. The publication needed to make an abstract systems-thinking framework accessible through a clear editorial structure, engaging visual language and thoughtful information design. Working closely with the project team, I developed a publication that balances research, case studies and data visualisation while extending the project’s nature-inspired visual identity to reinforce the themes of interconnectedness, adaptability and resilience.
The result is a publication that enables betterplace Lab to communicate a complex body of research in a format that is approachable, visually coherent and engaging, helping policymakers, civil society organisations and partners explore new ways of building resilience in an increasingly interconnected world.
